He has also worked in Raj Kapoor's Jagte Raho, a Hindi film. He has also worked in an English film called Merchant-Ivory Venture The Householder. He was also a linguist and knew Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, English, and French. He died on February 10, 1974, at the age of 67, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
