Edward James Begley Jr. was born on 16th September 1949. He is a well-known American actor and environmentalist. Begley has acted in several films, television series, and theatrical productions. On the TV series “St. Elsewhere (1982–1988),” he played Dr. Victor Ehrlich. He received six “Primetime Emmy Award” nods in a row for the performance. He also received a “Golden Globe” nomination. Begley also co-hosted the green living reality show “Living with Ed (2007–2010)” with his wife Rachelle, Carson.

In Los Angeles, California, United States, Begley was born to Allene Jeanne Sanders and Oscar-winning actor Ed Begley. Begley Sr. was married to Amanda Huff when Begley was born. She died when Begley Jr. was just 7.

Until he was 16, Begley believed Huff was his biological mother. Sanders, his biological mother, was introduced to him afterward.

Begley graduated from “Notre Dame Secondary School” in Sherman Oaks, a Catholic high school. He pursued his higher education from “Los Angeles Valley College” in North Hollywood when he was 13.

Begley's debut on television was a cameo on Maude. In the 1970s, he appeared as a guest star on the TV sitcom “Room 222.” He starred in Stephen King's “Kingdom Hospital, St. Elsewhere, and Wednesday 9:30 p.m.”

Begley appeared as a guest on “Mary Hartman, 7th Heaven, Arrested Development, Meego, and Six Feet Under (8:30 Central).” He played Chip's tall classmate in one episode of “My Three Sons.”

From 2000 to 2016, Begley served on the Board of Governors of the “Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.” He starred in “The Late Shift,” a TV show, in 1996. He played real-life CBS executive Rod Perth. “Scrubs, Boston Legal, and Star Trek: Voyager” featured him as a guest star. In season three of “Veronica Mars,” he had a recurrent guest role. He starred in the 2008 HBO film “Recount.” The movie chronicled the 2000 Presidential Election and its aftermath. Begley also appeared as a spokesperson for Cinco on “Tim and Eric Awesome Show.”

Edward has three children: a daughter and a son from his first marriage, and a daughter from his second marriage. Several times, he was stabbed. In 1972, a street gang mugged him. The Bio channel's TV program “Celebrity Close Calls’ reported the news. Begley authored two books released by “Random House: Living Like Ed: Ed Begley Jr.'s Guide to Sustainable Living: Learning to Conserve Resources and Manage an Eco-Conscious Life (2009) and A Guide to the Eco-Friendly Life (2008).” On “A Vegan Survival Guide for the Holidays (2014),” he teamed with Jerry James Stone.
