Kim F. Coates is an American- Canadian actor who is best known for playing Alexander "Tig" tagger in the series Sons of Anarchy. He also in series such as CSI, CSI: Miami, Prison Break, Cold Case, Van Helsing, and also in films such as The Last Boy Scout, Bad Boys, Kings of Sorrow, Goo.

Kim F. Coates was born on the 21st of February, 1958. He is a Canadian-American actor who has appeared in films and television programs in Canada and the United States. He has been on Broadway as Stanley Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire" and as the title character in "Macbeth" at the "Stratford Shakespeare Festival." He is most known for his performances on FX's Sons of Anarchy as Alexander "Tig" Trager and Citytv's Bad Blood as Declan Gardiner, as well as frequent appearances on Prison Break, Cold Case, CSI, and CSI: Miami.

He has also appeared in films such as The Last Boy Scout (1991), Bad Boys (1995), King of Sorrow (2006), and Goon (2011). Coates was born to Frederick "Fred" and Joyce Coates in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He watched his first play while studying at the University of Saskatchewan taking a theatre course as an option. This event motivated him to seek a profession as an actor. Coates played Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire and was the youngest person ever to perform Macbeth at the Stratford Festival in his own country of Canada.
