Multi-talented Staz Nair is a London-based actor, singer, and songwriter of Russian and Indian (Malayali) Heritage. He is best known for his role as ‘Qhono’ - the head of the Dothraki in seasons 6 and 7 of HBO’s Game of Thrones and as ‘ Rocky Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ in Fox’s ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’.
He was born in 1990 on June 17th in London, United Kingdom, to parents of Russian and Indian descent. Staz Nair is married to his wife, Klara Vernier who is a singer, music producer, and also a Youtuber. They started dating in November 2015. Later, they got married.
Nair's first big appearance was as a member of Times Red, the beatboxing boy band who made it up to the Judges House stage in the 9th season of the famous British music competition TV series ‘The X-factor’ in 2012. The trio released their debut single in March 2013 titled “Just No Good for Me”.
A year later, Nair decided to switch his focus to acting and joined HBO’s popular fantasy drama television series “Game of Thrones” created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. as ‘Qhono’, the Dothroki warrior who helps take Daenerys prisoner, in the sixth season of “Game of Thrones”. Nair then made his big-screen debut in 2016 by playing the role of ‘Bharat Kumar’ in the cross-cultural musical drama titled “Bazodee”. In the same year Nair was cast as Titular Rocky in the television film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again”, which premiered on Fox in October 2016. In 2019, Nair played the role of Dax-Baron, the man who becomes the supervillain Doomsday, in the TV series “Krypton” developed by David S. Goyer.
Staz Nair can currently be seen as a main cast member in the 5th and 6th seasons of The CW/DC’s popular superhero television series “ Supergirl Click to look into! >> Read More... ” portraying ‘William Dey’.
Some other work of Staz Nair includes recurring role of Gordon in the latest series of “Humans”, portraying the role of Ahsan Alkaaf in the “Lady Parts (Short Film 2018)”, a guest lead role in Series 2 of “Tyrant” an American political drama television series for FOX 21 directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”.
