David Atkins is an Australian dancer and choreographer born on 12 December 1955. Atkins is also a music theater director and producer and CEO of David Atkins Enterprises, an event production company. Some of Atkin’s renowned works include hot shoe shuffle which is one of Australia’s famous theater musical, directing Hey Hey It's Saturday, Bicentennial Military Tattoo and The Man from Snowy River: Arena Spectacular. Atkins has got more than 20 musicals to his credit in various countries like Britain, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and the United States; he choreographed and directed these musicals.

Not only musical theater Atkins’ company but David Atkins Enterprises has also organized some of the greatest most spectacular events of the decade. This includes Opening and Closing Ceremonies for 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, the Ceremonies of the Doha 2006 Asian Games, the 2010 Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremony, and Victory Ceremonies in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and Expo 2010, Outdoor Opening Ceremony in Shanghai, which was the largest multimedia display in world history to open the largest World Expo since its 1851 event.

Most recently, he organized the 2011 Moscow City Day Anniversary Celebrations, the Opening Ceremony of the 2011 New Zealand Rugby World Cup, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 12th Arab Games in Doha, Qatar to name a few. Because of his work and achievements at such a large scale, he is currently one of Australia’s most rewarded choreographer, director, and CEO. Atkins’ work has got him many praises, recognition and awards in the entertainment field, few being the 2003 Queen’s Birthday Honours with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), Gold Olympic Pin, for his work on the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

A Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 by Australian entertainment industry is also another feather in his cap. Also, his company received Best Export Award for its work on the Ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the Opening Ceremony of World Expo 2010 Shanghai China.
