Initially choosing the profession of a teacher at the Chicago Public School System, Craig Robinson had planned a sedentary lifestyle for himself. However, he discovered his real zest for drama after he enrolled himself for acting in ‘improv’ classes at the Second City Theatre in Chicago. There onwards, the stand-up comedian turned things around for himself.

Born on October 25, 1971, Robinson was brought up in Illinois, Chicago. After completion of his schooling from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, he pursued his under-graduation at Illinois State University and received his post-graduate degree from Saint Xavier University. In the late 90s, he received recognition for his comic timings and saucy anecdotes at the Montreal “Just for Laughs” Festival. He was also awarded with the Miller Genuine Draft 1996 Comedy Search and had attended the Oakland Comedy Festival Awards. He shone as a comedian at “The Jimmy Kimmel Show” and his gags were more than appreciated at the show titled “Real Time” with ‘ Bill Maher Bill Maher is an actor, political commentator, com >> Read More... ’.

Robinson rose to fame as an actor after his portrayal of the character “Darryl Philbin” in the American show, “ The Office Story Coming Soon >> Read More... ”, which was broadcasted nation-wide on NBC from 2005 to 2013. From his role as a delicate and fragile-minded bouncer in the movie, Knocked Up (2007), to his outstanding animation of the character of a henchman in the film, the Pineapple Express Click to look into! >> Read More... (2008), alongside ‘ Seth Rogen Seth Rogen is a Canadian born actor, comedian, wri >> Read More... ’ and ‘ James Franco James Franco is a prominent American actor and dir >> Read More... ’, Robinson has perfected the art of tickling one’s funny bones. Other successful films that included him in the cast were “This is the End” (2013), “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” (2008) and “Hot Tub Time Machine” (2015).

To substantiate his resume even more, Robinson dealt with performances that showcased his vocals exclusively. Delightful and light-hearted movies like “ Shrek Forever After Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (2010) introduced a brand new character named “ Cookie Click to look into! >> Read More... ” so as to allow Robinson to mesmerize the audience without being on-screen. He has also voiced several characters on The Cleveland Show, an American sitcom derived from another infamous show called “Family Guy”. He has illustrated significantly different roles in an independent feature film Father of Invention (2010), although it belongs to the genre of comedy which is his forte.  Apart from making his mark in Hollywood, he has featured in much popular television series like Friends, The Bernie Mac Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

In addition to acting in movies and sitcoms, Robinson has also produced two songs in the film "Miss March". He has provided a significant contribution to the advertising world by his presence in a series of commercials for New Era Cap Company.
