Ronnie Corbett

Ronald Balfour also referred as Ronnie Corbett, was a Scottish actor, stand-up comedian, writer, and broadcaster, famously known for his long friendship with Ronnie Barker in the BBC tube comedy sketch play The Two Ronnies. He gained prominence in David Frost's ironic comedy show The Frost Report along with Barker and consequently starred in sitcoms such as Now Look Here, No – That's Me Over Here!, and Sorry! Ronnie was born in Edinburgh, the boy of William Balfour Corbett, a master baker, and his wife, Annie Elizabeth Corbett. He had a sibling about six years small, and a sister of ten years younger than him. Corbett went to the Royal High School and James Gillespie's High School in the town but did not visit the university.

After moving from school, he determined he wanted to be an artist while working in amateur shows at a church youth club. His first work, however, was beside the Ministry of Agriculture. Corbett completed his compulsory civil service with the Royal Air Force, while he was the smallest in height authorised officer in the British Troops. A recent aircraftman 2nd class, he was elected to the secretarial section of the RAF as a pilot deputy in 1950. He got the service number 2446942. He transported to the reserve in 1951, through ending his term of active service. He was graduated to flying deputy in 1952. Later National Service, Corbett flew to London to start his acting profession. At five ft 1 in tall, Ronnie was suited to perform roles youthful than his years. Recommendations to his height repeatedly cropped up in his self- the deprecating joke. In one of his newest stage shows, he was solicited as Ronald Corbett at Cromer in the Take it Easy in 1956, along with Graham Stark. It was while serving at Danny La Rue's restaurant that Corbett joined Anne Hart, who he was to wed that year. The marriage lasted 49 years till he died. In 1966, Corbett partnered artist and performer Anne Hart they had two children, actresses Sophie Corbett and Emma. Their first child, Andrew, had a heart injury and died at six weeks past at the St Thomas' Hospital, London. Corbett breathed in Shirley, London for several years. He also had a house in Gullane, which is in Scotland. He was a beekeeper and kept colony at his second home.

Corbett was a golfer and looked in star and pro–am procedures; in 2009, he did a documentary with Colin Montgomerie in which they performed at Gleneagles. A keen cricket follower, Corbett was also a chairman of the cricketing welfare the Lord's Taverners. He helped his local soccer club, The Crystal Palace FC, also his hometown organisation, Heart of Midlothian FC. In mid-2014, Corbett served a party at 10 the Downing Street received by David Cameron-Conservative Prime Minister. In 2014, Corbett was one of 200 public characters who were signatories to a message to The Guardian stating their hope that Scotland would choose to remain the member of the United Kingdom in September's election on that point. 

On 31 March 2016, Corbett passed off at the age of 85, in Shirley, London, encircled by his family. He was sustained by his wife and two children. Corbett's burial service, for relatives and friends, was held on 18 April at the St John the Evangelist Chapel near his house in Shirley. In recognition to one of his famous Two Ronnies comedy pictures, four candles were arranged at the back of the platform. He has created a private ceremony at Croydon Crematorium afterwards. Mourners carried Sir Michael Parkinson, Rob Brydon, David Walliams and Jimmy Tarbuck.
