Charlie Hunnam is a hunk English actor and a notable screenwriter. He was born as Charles Matthew Hunnam on April 10, 1980 at Newcastle Upon Tyne in England, UK to William and Jane Hunnam. His parents got separated when he was only 2-years old. Charlie shifted at Melmerby, Cumbria at the age of 12 when his mother re-married. He studied at Heaton Manor School, Newcastle but after moving to Cumbria, he studied at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith. On his secondary school, the actor got expelled and so he did his exams at home. He also went to Cumbria College of Art and Design to study Performing Arts.

At 17, Charlie was discovered while buying a shoe for his brother on Christmas Eve. He was approached by the production manager of the British series, Byker Grove and subsequently, he was cast in 3 episodes of the show as Jason. At the age of 18, he got his very first major role as Nathan Maloney in the British series, Queer as Folk in 1999 followed by his character as Daz in Peter Hewitt’s film, ‘Whatever Happened to Harold Smith?’. After this, the actor went o Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. His career was expanded after bagging the role of Gregor Ryder in the drama show, Young Americans; followed by Judd Apatow’s short-lived television series, Undeclared on Fox channel where he donned the role of the aggressive, Lloyd Haythe. After this, Charlie acted on the silver screen in the films, Abandon and Nicholas Nickleby in 2002; he was also seen in the epic war film, Cold Mountain in 2003.

Charlie returned to UK and played the main lead role as Peter Dunham in the independent drama film, Green Street in 2005, but the way he delivers his Cockney accent received negative responses by the critics, and pertains it to be the ‘worst accent’ in the entire film history. In 2006, he played the role of Patric in the science fiction film, Children of Men. The actor stated that his role as a member of the group, The Fishes will be the last time that he will do a mad man role.

From 2008 up to the present, Charlie acted as Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller in the crime drama television series, Sons of Anarchy. This is a story about a famous motorcycle club in California and he played the main lead role.
