Chris Bridges or Christopher Brian Bridges in real life, is an American entrepreneur, rapper, and actor. He is popularly known as Ludacris; born on September 11, 1977, in Illinois, U.S. His father is Wayne Bridges and mother is Roberta Shields. After moving to Chicago area, he studied at Oak Park’s Emerson Middle School and later attended OPRF. He then shifted to Centreville in Virginia and studied at Centreville High School. He completed his studies at Banneker High School in the year 1995. Chris also took music management from Georgia State University in the late 1990s. At the age of 9, he penned his very 1st rap song when he moved to Georgia and subsequently participated in a non-professional rap group. Initially, he worked as a trainee before he became a DJ on a popular radio station. He was once a DJ at Freaknik as well. He worked with Timbaland on the track, Phat Rabbit, which became a huge hit in different countries. In his initial years as a singer/rapper, he has also collaborated with Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin.

In 1998, he recorded the album Incognegro (debut), with which he handled the production. Incognegro had poor sales, but it was still being sold until today. His appearance in Timbaland’s Phat Rabbit was used on Incognegro’s re-issue entitled Back for the First Time, which became his second studio album. The album took the number 4 spot at U.S.’ Billboard 200, which later turned out highly successful. From then on, Chris already made a mark in the music industry especially with the singles like What’s Your Fantasy and Southern Hospitality. During an interview with MTV’s Direct Effect, he shared that he got his name Ludacris from the words ridiculous and ludicrous, which is according to his own personality.

At the end of 2001, his succeeding album entitled, Word of Mouf, was released. The music video for the album’s lead track entitled Rollout (My Business) received a nomination at the Grammy Awards in 2002. He took a short hiatus and returned in 2003 with his latest song, Act a Fool. The main track, P-Poppin, from Chicken-n-Beer album, was released in the same year.

In 2003, the track, Stand Up Click to look into! >> Read More... , from his Chicken-n-Beer album, became his most popular song up to this time. It hit the number 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 and earned massive airplay on many radio stations, BET, MTV, and MTV2. The I.O.F. group sued Chris after claiming that the single was taken from their track. However, in 2006, it was confirmed that Stand Up did not breach any copyrights issue.

In early 2004, he released his next single entitled Splash Waterfalls, which turned out to be very successful despite having ardent video and adult content. This is the first time that he produced two successive top ten singles from an album. For the first time, he earned a Grammy Award for the very successful single entitled Yeah!

Chris shows matured approach in his 4th album entitled The Red Light District. Lil Flip, T.I, Bun B and Sohail Khalid assist him in producing this album. He recorded and filmed the song, Get Back, where he appeared as a muscular hulk, who got irritated to the media. He also made a guest appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live Saturday Night Live or popularly called as NBC&#39 >> Read More... and performed along with the Canadian rock band, Sum 41, whom he collaborated on Get Back’s rock version later on.

His next studio album, Release Therapy, took the number 9 spot in XXL’s “Most Anticipated Albums” in the year 2006. The CD has two formatted sides; the Release and the Therapy side. Money Maker, the first track from the album, was released in the US radio outlets and has reached the number 1 position on BET’s 106 & Park. Money Maker became his 2nd number one track after six long years. The album itself also won the Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album.

In 2008, a mixtape entitled The Preview, was released to promote Chris album’s Theater of the Mind. He later made a confirmation of a sequel to the album entitled Ludaversal. His 7th studio album was launched in March 2010 with the promotional single entitled Everybody Drunk. The Battle of the Sexes album’s 1st single was entitled How Low, released in 2009. The album itself became number 1 after garnering sales of 137,000 in its first week. Battle of the Sexes was certified gold.

In 2012, Chris released three singles; Jingalin, Rest of My Life and Representation. However, they were scrapped, and the upcoming album was stalled. In 2013, he released the mixtape, #IDGAF and had been launching latest songs on Fridays, because he wished to call it as IDGAF Fridays. IDGAF had 60k downloads at datpiff.com on its first day. Chris portrayed as Tej again in the very successful hit film, Fast & Furious 6 in 2013. In the same year, he confirmed on VIBE.com about his collaboration with the famous singer-songwriter, Anita Baker, on his next album.

After a long hiatus, Chris made a comeback in January 2014, with his latest song, Party Girls. However, this single was not included on his new album. Later, he announced the release of Ludaversal, which premieres the 1st single of Burning Bridges’ Good Lovin, which features Miguel (American singer). Good Lovin earned moderate success and served as Ludaversal’s 1st single. On March 2015, Ludaversal was released after three long years of delays. It took the number 3 spot at the Billboard 200 and earned positive reviews.

Chris has two daughters namely Shaila Scott and Karma Bridges. The latter is her daughter from the previous relationship. He has another daughter named Cai Bella Bridges with his friend, Tamika Fuller. Since 2009, he is dating model, Eudoxie Mbouguiengue, whom he had same-day engagement and marriage. Later on, Eudoxie got pregnant, which cause speculations that this is the reason the couple rushed their engagement and marriage. In June 2015, they welcomed another baby girl. In 2002, he started the Ludacris Foundation, who aims to help the youth people.

Chris has been part of films like The Wash, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Crash, The Heart of the Game, RocknRolla, Max Payne, Gamer, Fast Five Click to look into! >> Read More... , Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, Fast 8, and much more. He also acted on television for shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Being Mary Jane, Rising Star, Empire, and more. He did a voice-over role in the 2015 video game, Forza Horizon 2.
