Ed O Neill

Ed O Neill, whose full name is Edward Leonard "Ed" O'Neill, is a comedian and an actor of American descent. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the United States of America on April 12, 1946, to Ruth Ann (née Quinlan) and Edward Phillip O'Neill. While Ruth was a social worker and a homemaker, Edward drove a truck and worked at a steel mill. Ed went to Ursuline High School, Youngstown State University, Ohio University, and Worthington High School.

While studying at Worthington High School, he won a state championship. He became extremely popular on the campus, and people started to call him Ed O'Winner. Ed secured himself an admission into the Ohio University by winning a football scholarship. He studied history there. Ed joined the Delta Tau Delta's Mu chapter as well.

In Youngstown State University, he became a part of Delta Sigma Phi. Though Ed was active in sports, he lacked behind in academics and was an avid party-goer. For a while, Ed taught social studies to students at Ursuline High School.

In 1979, Ed did his first Broadway play named Knockout. In 2016, he voiced the character of Hank the Octopus in Disney's animated motion picture Finding Dory.

Initially, Ed was unaware that Hank would be pivotal to the script. It was only during his voice sessions when he realized that Hank is one of the film's crucial character. Ed has also done an advertisement for America's ex-president Barack Obama.

Ed is the winner of two Golden Globe Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards, four Screen Actors Guild Awards, and several other prestigious prizes. On August 30, 2011, Hollywood Walk of Fame inscribed his name on one of the stars.

He is married to Catherine Rusoff, an actress, and the couple is proud parents of two daughters. His friend John Milius, a director and writer, introduced him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Ed grew interested in it and trained under Rorion Gracie for twenty-two long years. In December 2007, he got a black belt in it. The black belt is the very dear to him apart from his children.
