Ekin Cheng is a renowned singer and an actor. He is from Hong Kong and is a very famous personality there. He is a born entertainer, as he has always achieved great success from his childhood. He started acting during his High School days and was pretty popular due to his Hi-C Lemon Tea commercial. He joined TVB's Martial Arts School after High School, but he did not enjoy it and later enrolled in acting school.

Ekin was called by many names in his early days from Noodle Cheng to Dior Cheng. The transition in names was because of a search of the most conventional sounding first name. After acting school, he received many offers for various TV shows. He made his debut with ‘Tian xia’ in 1988. His made his film debut with ‘Girls Without Tomorrow’ (1992). He was named Dior back then and changed it to Ekin before his famous role in ‘Young and Dangerous’ series, where he played the character of Chan Ho-nam. People vastly accepted him as one of the loved celebrities. He has not always been prone to scandals and issues in public but has always fought his way even during the scandal of leaving Maggie Siu. He is a popular singer as well. He is known for Baak fan baak gam gok, Tokyo Raiders and much more. His role in ‘Vampire in Love’ is also appreciated by many critics as well as audiences. His notable performances came in ‘The Storm Riders’ (1998), ‘A Man Called Hero’ (1999), ‘The Legend of Zu’ (2001) and ‘Vampire Effect’ (2003). He had many different partners in his life from Luisa Maria Leitao, Maggie Sui, Gigi Leung and at last Yoyo Mung. Gigi Leung is a famous actress and a singer, who dated Ekin and they were in the relation for seven years. The relation was one of the most talked affairs in the industry. He later ended his seven year long relation with her and married Yoyo Mung. He has a special bond with the director Andrew Lau. He made many prosperous movies along with him and always enjoyed working with him. He made the movie, The Storm Riders. The movie was the highest grossing movie of that time and also the prime one with plenty of special effects. He also worked in some comic roles as in ‘My Wife is 18’ and ‘Six Strong Guys’. He had a great run with BMG in his early days and later signed with EEG, the company owned by Albert Yeung.

In early 90's, he also appeared in radio, performing various radio dramas. He has always been active in many different fields including social service. He was offered to become the ambassador for Ocean Environment and WWF. He also launched his book in 2006, ‘Looking into Ekin's Eyes'. The book received praises and is now set for its third edition. He is the very passionate person and loves doing his work.
