He was born in the capital city of England - London. He grew in the most populous city in Canada - Toronto. He went to the UTS and Trinity College to complete his under graduation in English Hons. in the year 1963. Hagon acted with an English actor named Alec Guinness at the Stratford Festival of Canada in Richard III. He acted for about seven seasons, for which he won an award named Tyrone Guthrie in the year 1963. He was a guest star in an episode titled The River in a television series of the CBC in the year 1964 named The Forest Rangers. He studied for a spell in London with the studio named Royal Court Theatre Studio. After that, he acted in many repertory theatres with Prospect Productions as Chris Kellar in the movie All My Sons by Arthur Miller on the West End and in the film named After the Fall at the Royal National Theatre.

He was a voice actor in many movies and television series which includes marionette tokusatsu TV series named X-Bomber, created by Go Nagai, Manga Master, Goodbye Lady Liberty, The Secret of Mamo, and Run of Akira Kurosawa. He gave his voice to Divinity II: Ego, a video game, and is known for his recordings for UK publishers of about 150 audiobooks. He was the director of about 100 recordings of audiobooks, which includes Wolf Brother of Michelle Paver, read by Ian McKellen.

In the Star Wars: A New Hope's original version, his character as Red 3, Biggs Darklighter, came to a heroic end in the Death Star's attack during the Battle of Yavin.
