Joe Cole is an English actor from the Kingston Borough of London. He is best known for his roles as Luke in Skins, Tommy Nix in Offender, John Shelby in Peaky Blinders, Chas in A Long Way Down, and main villain in Secret in their Eyes and as Scott in Now is Good. He has also starred in the various award winning movies, like Assessment and Volume. Initially, Cole had decided to pursue an acting career by joining the National Youth Theatre. He got his role in Holby City, School Season and The Bill. Later he also started writing. He wrote many episodes of a comedy drama. Joe has worked with Matt Lucas, who was his writing partner. His film, A Long Way Down is a black comedy, directed by Pascal Chaumeli, is based on the novel of the same name written by Nick Hornby (2005). The film is loosely based on how the four strangers happen to meet on the roof of a building in London on the New Year’s Eve. Each one of them comes there to end his life. Their plans of suicide result in vain when they interact with each other. Pierce Brosnan (essays the role of Martin Sharp) contemplates his suicide, but he is interrupted by another female counterpart, Maureen. She is accompanied by other strangers, a pizza delivery boy, J.J and a young woman, Jess.

The people lined up recognize Martin, as he had been a popular Television personality before getting imprisoned for engaging in a relationship with a fifteen-year-old girl. Later all the four strangers vow not to take their lives until the day of Valentine’s. Green Rome was a horror thriller film in which Joe Cole had starred.
