Michael has been married and divorced twice with Lynn Goldsmith (1975-1978) and Vicki Light (1986-2001).

He has two daughters, Hannah and Jennifer. At the age of 14, Michael was shifted to an all-boys boarding school called Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut, where he became student-body president. He decided to become an actor after starring in a Gilbert and Sullivan play. Later, he went to Rollins College and Emerson College. It was in 1967 when Michael got his first role in a play called ‘The Crucible,’ at the Broadway Theatre.

Michael made his film debut in 1969 with an uncredited role in ‘Goodbye, Columbus,’ a romantic comedy-drama directed by Larry Peerce. In the course of his phenomenal career, he has appeared in various popular films, such as The Proposal, Last Holiday, Steven Spielberg´s The Terminal, Captain America, In the Arms of Killer, Changes, Quiet Victory: The Charlie Wedemeyer Story, Rage of Angels: The Story Continues, Thieves of Fortune, Sinatra Club, Carman: The Champion, Stuey, Invincible, etc.  In 1983, he starred as Nick Hurley in the romantic drama movie called ‘Flashdance’ which became one of the highest-grossing films of 1983 & was nominated for many awards & won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Nouri has also starred in numerous prestigious television series, including Damages, The Slap, NCIS, Without a Trace, CSI: NY, South Beach, Enterprise, Cold Case, The Practice The Practice is an American legal drama that focus >> Read More... , The West Wing, Law & Order SVU, and Criminal Intent. His significant recurring roles were on ABC's popular show Bay City Blues, Downtown, Love and War, The Young and the Restless, and Brothers and Sisters. He also played the character Caleb Cortlandt in All My Children, Dr. Neil Roberts in the O.C and sang the closing theme song for CBS's long-running show Search for Tomorrow, for which he received an Emmy nomination as Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series.

Among these, Michael’s favorite role is ‘Lucky Luciano’ in the popular NBC series The Gangster Chronicles. Moreover, his favorite musical experience was "South Pacific" (2001) in which he played the character Emile de Becque, in the seven-month national tour following the 9/11 crisis. For his outstanding performance in the movie called ‘The Hidden,’ Nouri won the Best Actor award at Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival. He was also nominated for the Best Actor award at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA, for the same movie. Besides acting, Michael Nouri is also the ambassador for ‘Seeds of Peace,’ the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and guides kids who aspire to become actors.
