Peter Stormare also known as Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm is a Swedish voice actor, actor, musician, playwright, and theatre director. He is very well known for playing Gaear Grimsrud in the movie Fargo in 1996. He has appreciated a lot for his work in the Prison Break as John Abruzzi aired on the Fox series

Stormare was born in Sweden and was raised in Hälsingland. Peter changed his surname to Stormare when he learned that he shared the surname with his senior at the acting academy. The meaning of Stormare is stormer and is derived from a Swedish word storm. Before changing the surname to Stormare, he decided to change his name to Mrots Retep, which means Peter Storm backward.

He started off his journey as a theatre performer and started working with the Royal Dramatic Theatre. He was part of that theatrre group for 11 long years. In 1990, he joined the Tokyo Globe Theatre as an Associate Artistic Director. During this phase, he got a very good working experience and got the opportunity to work various Shakespeare performances, which included the famous Hamlet.  Three years later, he shifted his base to New York City. He mainly worked there at various English language productions. He got great recognition worldwide through his role of kidnapper in Fargo in the year 1996.  He was next seen as Dieter Stark in “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” in 1997 and later played the role of Solomon Eddie in Minority Report.

In 1998, he featured in The Frogger, a Seinfeld episode. He portrayed the character of a rogue electrician whose name was Slippery Pete. In 1998, he was seen as Uli Kunkel in “The Big Lebowski”, and even as Lev Andropov, in Armageddon. In 1999, he played the role of a cruel director and producer in the movie 8mm. He was seen as Gunny in Windtalkers, and in the 2003 release Bad Boys II, he portrayed the character of Alexei. In the same year, he was seen as Ernst Röhm in the movie Hitler: The Rise of Evil. In 2005, he was seen as Lucifer in the film Constantine. He was seen in the television series Prison Break as John Abruzzi, which was aired on the Fox Channel.

He has given his voice for Mattias Nilsson in the video games Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, and Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. In 2006, he featured as Wolfgang in various television commercials like Volkswagen's VDub. He grabbed the lead role in the movie Svartvattnet, which was shot in Sweden and Norway. He played the character of Dr. Roth in the movie “Premonition” in 2007. In the same year, he appeared in the Ending Happy episode of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”.

Stormare was a participant of the Stjärnorna på slottet a Swedish reality show. He appeared as Dr. Zelinsky, a Russian Scientist in “Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3”. He was seen as Walter in Canadian Crime Thriller Small Town Murder Songs in 2010. He has even featured in the music video of song Uprising band Sabaton. In 2014, he made an appearance in the episodes of Arrow, The Blacklist, and Longmire. He was also seen as Karlsson in Clown, which was produced by ‘ Eli Roth Eli Raphael Roth is a renowned American actor, dir >> Read More... ’. In 2015, he lent his voice to the character of Dr. Alan Hill, in Until Dawn.

In 1989, Stormare got married to actress ‘Karen Sillas’. The two divorced later in 2006. He later tied the knot with Toshimi, in 2008. They have a daughter named Kaiya Bella Luna Stormare.
