Ron Lea was born in Montreal, Canada. The Canadian actor/director has established himself in the film industry with various movies and television shows. He graduated from Concordia University, Canada. His interest in acting and direction took him to the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal, Quebec. His career began from working at radio shows and theatre. He worked with The Centaur Theatre Company and The Segal Centre for Performing Arts (originally Saidye Bronfman Centre for Performing Arts), both located in Montreal, Canada. Lea gradually climbed up the ladder of success and recognition, and various television and film opportunities started coming his way.

He landed his first feature film in the year 1981, horror movie, ‘Happy Birthday to Me.’ For that decade Lea appeared in numerous television series, ‘The Blue Man’, ‘The Phone Call’, ‘Red Earth, White Earth’, to name a few. In the year 1990, he landed the role that got him to fame, the character of Brian Malony in ‘Street Legal’. He remained a part of the show for four years. For his performance in ‘Street Legal’, he was nominated for, the Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role. (Gemini Awards were awarded by, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.) Continuing his work in the acting field, he received the chance to work in ‘Doc’, a television series, in the year 2001. While playing the character of Dr. Oliver Crane in ‘Doc’, he directed a few episodes too. This series lasted for him for four years. His next big project was ‘This is Wonderland’, in the year 2005, where he plays the character of Jack Angel.

He worked in the series for one year. In 2008, he worked in a television movie, ‘Victor’, for which he received his second Gemini Awards nomination. He bagged to role for the character Lieutenant Gavin Hardcastle, in the series ‘Orphan Black’, in 2013. In the year 2014, he worked for six episodes in the series ‘The Best Laid Plans’, portraying the character of Norm Fontana.

The year 2014 had Lea appearing in numerous productions with various companies. He was a part of, ‘Mr. Cartwright’, ‘Covert Affairs’, ‘Dr. Cabbie’, ‘Touring T. O’, ‘ Brick Mansions Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, and ‘ Reign Reign is a romantic drama set in the era when mona >> Read More... ’. Most recently, in 2017, he appeared in a television movie ‘Framed for Murder: A Fixer Upper Mystery’, as Pete Hughes. He plays the character of Dr. Weller in ‘XX’. Year 2017 also brought him the role of Frank Selke in the TV mini-series Beliveau.
