Warren Buffet or Warren Edward Buffet is a business tycoon, a philanthropist and an investor from America. He is often titled as the successful investors of all times. Warren Buffet is the CEO, chairman and shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway. He has been continuously ranked as the wealthiest man on the face of the earth. In the year 2008, he was named by Time as the wealthiest person in the world and 2015; he was the third wealthiest. He is also one of the influential people of the world. Despite his wealthy status, he has always been referred to as the Oracle of Omaha, Sage of Omaha and Wizard of Omaha due to his ethical business practices. His down to earth was notable when he pledged to give about 99% of his fortune to the cause of philanthropy. In the year, 2012 Warren buffet was diagnosed with the deadly disease, cancer. He is also an active face in the political realm. Buffet endorsed Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for 2016 presidential elections. Born in Omaha, Warren Buffet is of French descent. He was the son of Howard Buffet and Leila. He started his education at Rose Hill Elementary School. Warren’s father was an active member of United States Congress. Later he attended Alice Deal Junior High School. He displayed enthusiasm in math, investing and business at an early age. Buffet began business by selling chewing gums, weekly magazines and Coca-Cola Bottles door to door. He also worked in his grandfather’s shop, selling groceries. Even at high school, he earned money by selling golf stamps and balls and delivering newspapers. Buffet and his friend also successfully ventured into the business of barbershop, which was later sold to a war veteran for $1200. He was keenly interested in continuing his business, but under pressure from his father, Buffet joined Wharton School, and afterward graduated in business administration from the University of Nebraska.
He didn’t get an admission into the most coveted universities in the world, Harvard Business School. He enrolled at the Colombia Business School and pursued Masters in economics. In the year 1962, Warren Buffet became a billionaire due to his partnerships that had an excess of $7,178,500, out of which Buffet owed a sum of $1,025,000. Buffet merged all these partnerships into one. He invested and took the leadership of Berkshire Hathaway, a textile manufacturing firm. He then started buying shares from Seabury Stanton. Later Buffet claimed that venturing into textile manufacturing has been his worst business. He also announced his investment in a private company owned by Baltimore department store, Hochschild, Kohn and Co. In the year 1949, Buffet fell in love with a young woman, Susan Thompson. He had a passion for playing instruments like Ukulele, and it is his interest that led to their affair and consequently marriage. It is said that Buffet often plays the Ukulele during stockholder meetings. The couple has three kids, Howards, Susie and Peter. Later in 1977, Buffet and Susan lived separately until latter’s death. The buffet was earning an annual salary of $100,000 in 2006 and an amount of $175,000 in 2007. But still he continues to live in the same house in the neighborhood of Omaha. Apart from that house he also owns a costly one near Laguna Beach, California.
