Carrie-Anne Moss is a renowned Canadian actress. She was born on August 21, 1967 in Burnaby, British Columbia in Canada. Her mother, Barbara Moss, was said to have named her after the popular hit song, Carrie Anne by The Hollies. Carrie-Anne participated in a children’s musical theatre when she was 11-years old. Later, she went to Europe along with the choirs of Vancouver’s Magee Secondary School.

When she was in Spain, she was cast as Tara McDonald in the crime drama series, Dark Justice from 1991 to 1993. This was her first TV appearance. From Barcelona, she shifted to Los Angeles, California. On her return, she subsequently attended Pasadena’s American Academy of Dramatic Arts and was later starred in Melrose Place’ spin-off entitled Models Inc.

Her portrayal as Natalie, a bartender, in the neo-noir psychological thriller film, Memento, earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the Independent Spirit Awards in the year 2001. She has two releases in 2006; one is the Canadian zombie comedy film, Fido and the other one is the British-Canadian indie film, Snow Cake. In the following year, she acted as Julie Brecht in the box office mystery horror-thriller film, "Disturbia". Carrie-Anne also lends her voice to Aria’s character in the action role-playing video games, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.

She took part in the 2015 documentary film entitled Unity, which was produced and helmed by Shaun Monson. This film was narrated by several personalities and was a sequel to the 2005 documentary film, Earthlings. She is currently filming the American-Canadian-Irish biographical film, Brain on Fire, which is slated to release in 2016.
