Ingrid Bergman

Ingrid Bergman was an actress in Swedish, and he has done acting in many American and European movies. While considering achievements by her, she got awards many times including 2 Emmy Awards, 3 Academy Awards, and 4 awards of Golden Globe. Some of her memorable roles are of Alicia Huberman, which she performed in movie Notorious in 1946, in the role of Ilsa Lund for movie Casablanca in 1942, etc.

Earlier she was a Swedish movies actress in the lead role and after that became a famous film actress in American movies. American audience came to know about her remake of movie Intermezzo in the language of English, where she played a starring role.

After doing movies for the decade in America, she acted in film Roberto Rossellini's Stromboli in 1950. There was a revelation about her affair with this director. Then she married Rossellini, and this news caused an outrage in the United States, which led her to stay in the Europe for some years. After that, she returned to Hollywood successfully in movie Anastasia in 1956 and for this, she has won award of 2nd Academy. The American film institute gave her fourth rank in the female screen greatest legend in 2007. While talking about her childhood life, she took birth in 1915 on August of 29 to a Justus Bergman, who was the Swedish and German mother, Frieda.

She was just two years old when she lost her mother because of her death. When she was of 13, she lost her father. Her father wanted to see her as a star of Opera. Even he made her take lessons in voice for the period of three years. She instead always wanted to choose acting as her career. She used to wear her mother’s cloth during childhood days and play in an empty studio of Father. Her father used to capture all her birthday memories in a camera which he borrowed from somebody. After her father’s death she went to stay with her aunt, and she died in next six months due to a heart disease.

Then she went to the house of another aunt and uncle named Hulda and Otto respectively. They gave birth to five children. Afterward, she got a scholarship into a Theatre School named Royal Dramatic, and it was state sponsored. In this school, some years later Greta Garbo won the same honour. She also got the role in Ett Brott, which was a play and Sigfrid Siwertz was its writer. In the duration of 1st summer break, a film studio from Sweden hired her. And therefore, she left this theater to work within 1 year only.

So that she could work in movies on the full-time basis. About her personal life, she married the dentist Petter Aron Lindstrom at the age of 21 and on 20th September 1938, they gave birth to a girl Friedel Pia. In 1950, she had another affair with Roberto Rossellini, who was the director by profession during a production of movie Stromboli and she gave birth to his son Roberto Ingmar Rossellini.

After then Lindström and Bergman got divorced. In 1952, she gave birth to two girls Isotta Ingrid Rossellini and her sister names Isabella Rossellini, both were twins. But she divorced Rossellini in 1957. Then she married Lars Schmid, who was a theatrical entrepreneur and they had the two-decade long relationship until 1975 when they divorced. Finally in 1982, on her 67th birthday, she died in London due to breast cancer.
