Sidhu joined the modeling industry at a very young age. In an interview, she said that one day, after when she had finished her GCSE exams; she was traveling in a train.
There, a lady from a modeling agency came up to her and enquired about her age, height, and ethnicity. The lady remarked that she would be a great model. Soon after their meet, Sidhu got a call to do a fashion shoot for one of the most renowned magazines in UK, and this is how she made her debut in the fashion industry. Since then she has been associated with top modeling agencies in the UK like Storm, Models One and Select. Her first ever film offer was quite a famous one. She was offered the lead role of Latika in " Slumdog Millionaire", directed by the famous director Danny Boyle, through the casting agent at Constant Casting back in 2008. But unfortunately, her shooting dates clashed with the mock and the final examination dates of her third year in college and she had to refuse the offer.
Later on, the movie turned on as a worldwide hit and also received several Oscar awards. But that was just the first step towards her success. Her first break was in the Bollywood movie named " Love Aaj Kal" which was released on 31 July, 2009. It was directed by Imtiaz Ali and starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone as leads. There Mandi played the role of Colly. Later in that year, she was also seen playing the role of Maria in "London Dreams" starring Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan and Asin in the lead roles. In the same year, she was seen as Priya in a Hollywood short thriller film, "Hotel". In 2011, she did a small stint as a receptionist in "Johnny English Reborn", starring Rowan Atkinson.
But her most remarkable stint in Bollywood was in "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara". Zoya Akhtar was the director of this movie and it had an amazing star cast: Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin to name a few. Mandi played the role of Hrithik’s ex-girlfriend, Rohini, who left him because of his workaholic nature and obsession with money. Though it was a small role, she considers herself to be lucky to be working with Hrithik. Mandi has also acted in several English TV series like "The Philanthropist" (2009) where she played Reema Kirmani and in "Comedy Lab" (2011) where she was Shobhna aka The Princess. But Mandi is not just a pretty face. She has excelled in her academics all throughout her academic career and also got her Masters degree in Economics and Business Studies from Imperial College, London.
She says that although the life of a model is very hectic- attending shoots and castings, she enjoys her career. She likes working freelance rather than being forever attached to mainstream modeling agencies. She finds that acting is very easy for her and she can do it effortlessly and make it look real. Currently, this beautiful lady is associated with the London-based casting agency, Curtis Brown Ltd. This 5’8” young beauty is now rocking in various fashion shoots in prints as well as on ramps worldwide and has a few acting and modeling assignments lined up for the future.
