Sharon D Clarke

Sharon Delores Clarke is an actress and singer based in London of England. She is most widely renowned to the television fraternity for her role of Lola Griffin in the medical, slice of life drama Holby City. Sharon has also played the iconic Grace O’Brien in the cult classic Doctor Who. Sharon portrayed the lead roles in several West End musicals, including the Killer Queen in “We Will Rock You” and Oda Mae Brown in “Ghost the Musical.”

Right from the starting to the present date of her stage career, Sharon has had the privilege of being nominated for many Laurence Olivier Awards, which is a very prestigious award given to those recognized for their work in theatre by the society of London theatre. She has bagged 2014 Laurence Olivier for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in James Baldwin’s The Amen Corner. Sharon also won her second Laurence Olivier for the category of the best actress in the musical for her mesmerizing performance of Caroline Thibodeaux in the 2018 West End production of Caroline, or Change, a role she’s set to reprise and present on the Broadway set to be scheduled in 2021.  In the previous year, October 2020, Sharon won her third Laurence Olivier Award for her accomplishment in the revival of “Death of a Salesman” at the famous London’s Young Vic.

Sharon was also awarded an M.B.E, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire Award, an order of Chivalry given on Queen’s New Year Honours List for their Services to the world of Drama. Recently in 2021, Sharon took the mantle of Vice-Principal of ArtsEd, a college of Art and Dramatics and Performances based in London. She will hone and help new budding artists in their pursuit of Acting and Musical Theatre. Sharon is presently active on social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, where she actively talks about her views on art, musicians, her upcoming events.
