Matthew Strachan was born on 11th December 1970 in London, England. He is a popular songwriter and composer. He started working at an early age. He attended the Dartington College of Arts and Goldsmith College at the University of London. He was supposed to write five songs for a BBC TV drama called Boogie Outlaws as his project. He then started working for television and radio. Then he concentrated on making music in Nashville, where he worked with popular artists like Tommy Kimmel and Don Henry. He then returned to England, where he got his next big projects. They were About Bill and Next Door’s Baby. He has given music for short films Mostly Dead, and Love is a four letter Word Worth seven points.

His radio projects include Home front and the Gemini Apes with BBC radio 4, the Jasper Carrott trial, Nobblers, and Carrott’s comedy choice on BBC Radio 2 and Ben-Hur. He has also worked in musical theatres. Some of these projects are The White Feather, Silk, The Rink, The Fly, The Lodger, Happy Birthday Dear Alice, Hungry Ghosts, Passing by, As is, The Making of Moo, and Flora the Red Menace. His most popular contribution was the theme music for Who wants to be a Millionaire, played for the show in over 100 countries. Also, the theme he provided for WWI based drama Home Front became widely known. It was played on Radio 4 for four years. He has won 12 awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. Since he won ten consecutive awards for Who wants to be a Millionaire in 2012, ASCAP awarded him the ASCAP hall of Fame Award. His work in discography includes albums like Serious Men, 25 Year songbook, 37203, Fallen Angels, and the Rock Serious Electric Roadshow.

The films he made music for include Extract in 2009, Slumdog Millionaire Click to look into! >> Read More... in 2008, Millions in 2004, About a Boy in 2002, and A Kind of Hush in 1998. He has a website. He even has a Twitter account. His music is available in popular music applications worldwide, including iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube. In 2019, he released eight albums titled The Budapest Conspiracy, Ominous, Malibu Housewives, and Crime Retronica. This was all production music. He is also the creator of a popular fictional character Klaus Harmony who is also a music composer.
