Carlos Santana

Carlos Santana is a songwriter, musician, and bandleader. Santana had been born on 20th July 1947 in Mexico. Santana had become famous with his band in 1960 to 1970; he combined the music of rock and Latin America and stood as the pioneer for that fusion. At the age of five he learned violin, he learned guitar when he was eight years old. Santana is mostly inspired by Ritchie Valens who is a prominent singer and songwriter. His brother Jorge Santana was a professional guitarist, he later moved to Tijuana, but after few years he stayed along with his family in San Francisco. Santana was educated at Mission High School from the year 1965, he got selected in few universities for further studies, but he didn’t join anyone either.

He is inspired by many famous musicians, later he joined in many local bands and within few bands he handled the role of a bandleader very efficiently. Before becoming a professional musician, he had worked as a dishwasher for several years, but after such hard days, he completely focused on his musical works. The couple is blessed with three children - Stella, Salvador, and Angelica. Santana was been credited with many works for his musical works since 1973 to 2002 and had won nearly ten awards. In 1966 he moved to San Francisco and started a new band called ‘Santana Blues Band.’ Since the age of eight he learned the guitar. At the time of learning he was influenced by other prominent guitarists who inspired him to compose more songs.

Santana had signed an agreement with CBS Records and went to the first-day recording but the people over there were not satisfied exactly with his works so, later Santana was replaced by one of the famous personality Mike Shrieve who has a strong Rock background. In one festival their band performed instrumental stage show of eleven minutes in Woodstock film, and that album had gained massive popularity. Later an album of Willie Bobo in which Santana also had a part in it, the song Evil Ways had released in the year 1969. The band had performed at the Woodstock festival in the year 1969, that show is very successful and had won popularity to the band with international opportunities and they grew up slowly. After that, every show that is given by them had given a new chance to them and improving their group strength with personality.
