Hironobu Kageyama is a prominent Japanese musician and a singer. He has been a part of Japan's music industry for over 20 years now and is best known for his work on anime and tokusatsu projects. Aside from that, he has also worked as the lead singer for the band Lazy and later went on to form another group called JAM Project. Kageyama's first exposure in the music industry was as the vocalist in the band Lazy.

Kageyama and two of his school friends, drummer Munetaka Higuchi, and keyboard player Shunji Inoue, formed this group. The band experienced some early success but eventually broke up due to creative differences and the need for each member to make it on their own. It was after Lazy split that Kageyama started to experience success as a solo artist. He became known as the voice behind the theme songs of most well-known anime or tokusatsu shows, including but not limited to Dragon Ball Z Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese television serial prod >> Read More... , Transformers - The Headmasters and Blitzkrieg Squadron Changeman.

His success in this industry saw him dubbed the "Prince of Anime/Tokusatsu Songs" and he even earned the nickname "Mr. Dragon Ball Z" from fans of the uber-popular anime series because he lent his voice to most of their songs. The success of all former members of Lazy in their respective solo careers saw the band come back together to record albums in 1998 and 2002. Since then the band has been relatively inactive, releasing only the occasional single or compilation album.

After reforming Lazy, he went on to form the supergroup JAM Project in 2000, a group that consisted of singers who had success performing theme songs for anime and tokusatsu shows. Short for Japanese Animesong Makers, JAM Project went on to have plenty of sensation both in Japan and around the world. Till date, the group has released a total of five studio albums as well as eleven "Best Of" compilations. They have also released whopping sixty-six singles as well as twelve live DVD shows. They have also performed the theme songs for many anime and tokusatsu series as a group.

Aside from being an accomplished singer, Kageyama also plays acoustic guitar. He hosts a show called Anipara Ongakukan with his fellow JAM Project member Masaaki Endoh, wherein live performances of recent anime and tokusatsu themes are shown. He is also the voice of a sidekick character in the tokusatsu show-Garo.
