Paul Harold Westerberg, born on 31st December 1959, is an American musician who is acknowledged as the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for the alternative rock band, The Replacements. All though after the dissolution of the band he went solo. He was born in Edina, Minnesota to Mary Louise and Harold Westerberg. He got married to Lori Bizer, after their divorce, he got remarried to Laurie Lindeen. They together have a son named Johnny. His solo works are extremely impressive. His first performance was for the film Singles with the songs “Waiting For Somebody” and another memorable hit “Dyslexic Heart.” His first solo album was ’14 Songs’. Westerberg also co-wrote the song ‘Backlash’ for the 1991 hit album Notorious. He also played the guitar for the Tank Girl soundtrack in the year 1994. Westerberg released many songs under the name Grandpaboy, his alter ego. In the year 1996, he released his second album since his solo journey called ‘Eventually’. All though the album did not score well, the song “Love Untold” became a sensational hit on the radio.

His third album ‘Suicaine Gratification’ was a more personal, melancholy and a piano-driven work. It released in 1999. He went MIA until he re-surfaced in 2002 with a major comeback. He released two albums Stereo and Mono, which was his best work since his band The Replacements dissolved. Immediately after which, he released Dead Man Shake as Grandpaboy, Folker and Come Feel Me Tremble. He was seen on stage playing with the First Act production model guitar; he joined forces with the Boston-based guitar manufacturer to create his signature guitar edition PW580 in September 2006.

It is built with a red chequered pickguard; the guitar was described to be "mean and lean". In 2008, Westerberg launched two new songs, "3oclockreep" and the hit song "Finally Here Once". Later on, on September 13, 2008, he released yet another new song "Bored of Education". Again in 2008, he composed three songs; "Always in a Manger", "Streets of Laredo" and "D.G.T.". The songs Ghost on the Canvas, Good as the Cat, Drop Them Gloves and Love on the Wing are all sensational hits by him.
