Gordon Carroll

Gordon Carroll is a renowned American film producer. He was born as Charles Gordon Carrooll III on February 2, 1928, in Baltimore, Maryland in the USA. Gordon grew up in New York City and was influenced by his father’s passion for literature. He studied at Princeton University and became the 1st lieutenant in the Korean War. After his duty as a military, he moved back to Manhattan and started his career in the advertising world. He has worked for Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB), and a global advertising agency network.

In 1965, he entered the film industry and became the executive producer of George Axelrod’s satirical comedy film, How to Murder Your Wife. He went on to produce films like Cool Hand Luke (1967), The April Fools (1969), and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973). Gordon rose to fame in Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror film, Alien. In 1997, Jean-Pierre Jeunet has directed the fourth installment of the Alien franchise entitled Alien: Resurrection and in 2004, he co-produced Paul W.S. Anderson’s Alien vs. Predator. He also produced films like Blue thunder (1983), The Best of Times (1986), and Red Heat (1988). Gordon is also the co-founder of the American film production company called Brandywine Productions, the banner that produced the Alien film franchise. In May 20, 2005, Gordon died in L.A. California at the age of 77.
