Jordan Schur

Jordan Schur,was born on 17 August 1964, is a world renowned film and music producer as well as a successful marketing head and CEO of various record label companies. Currently based in Santa Monica California, Jordan is also an entrepreneur in the field of music and musical ventures with products like “Suretonelive.com” launched by him. Jordan Schur is currently the Chairman of Suretone Entertainment, a company that produces music, does film development, handles music artists and does overall financing in the entertainment industry. He also holds the office of the associate chairman and CEO of Mimran Schur Pictures, which, is a production company. Previously Jordan was the president of Geffen Records for almost a decade.

Jordan’s first successful venture was the launch of the 1994 music record label company, “Flip Records”. The company became a well-known brand in music selling over 70 million recordings. It was the Launchpad for careers of world famous music artists like Limp Bizkit and Staind. Till date, Flip Records is one of the very few record labels that brags the sale of over one million releases of an artist in just the first week of its release. Schur was later appointed the Chairman of the Universal Music Group-owned Geffen Records. He held the office for almost a decade from 1999 to early 2006. Schur scaled the company to new and incredible heights with expansion mergers and sky-rocketing sales. He merged the existing records company with DreamWorks Records and MGM Records and generated a revenue of over two billion in sales.

The recently  extended company soon went on to become the front-runner in the industry market shares. In 2006, after his departure from Geffen Records, he founded another company “Suretone Records” which led artists like Shwayze and The Cure to great successes. He later expanded this company as well to ventures including film development, production, music artist’s management and financing. Having led music production companies successfully, Jordan subsequently tried his hand at film and television production as well. He produced the famous MTV show “Buzzin” starring Shwayze. The two most awaited projects of the company are “Five against a Bullet” and “Revenge wedding” being produced in collaboration with Sony Pictures and Lionsgate respectively. Among his most recent entrepreneurial stints in the music industry was the launch of “Suretone Live” in 2014 with a partner, Cinsay. The portal is the world’s first of its kind e-commerce and social media music destination. It hosts a range of services including music, merchandise, videos, pay-per-view events and festivals, etc. The portal provides a common platform for music enthusiasts to share, watch and shop all kinds of music commodities. Aside from his ventures in the entertainment industry, Jordan is also holding office in Jordan Realty, which has extensive properties in Manhattan. He has also recently invested in the sports label “Lotto” and now serves as the director of the North American wing. Along with this, he has also launched a fashion house named “Michon Schur”. Jordan did his graduation in Arts from the Boston College at Boston from 1982-1986. He is currently married and lives with his wife and two children.
