Marc Platt is an American producer who has dabbled in all forms of entertainment like films, TV shows, and theater. His birth date fell on April 14, 1957, and he was born in Pikesville, Maryland, United States of the America into a Jew family. His father worked in a shoe shop while his mother taught in a nearby school.

He also has two siblings, one brother, and a sister. During their childhood, Marc's mother would cajole her children into donation their unused toys to the needy. He studied in Pikesville High School and later in the University of Pennsylvania.

While studying at the University of Pennsylvania, he was an active member of the college's Glee Club and would direct his school plays. He then took up law and enrolled himself in New York University. After graduating from there, he began to work with a firm that provides legal services to the entertainment industry.

While working as an entertainment attorney, he began to understand the process of film-making and decided to become a producer. He started with theatre plays and eventually moved on to movies. He has also worked for three major production studios like the Universal, Orion, and TriStar Pictures as a President.

Later, he quit and started his venture named Marc Platt Productions in collaboration with the Universal Studio. Marc Platt Productions sponsors and delivers content driven and edgy projects. Some of his projects include Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and much more. One of his projects named The Path to 9/11 was embroiled in a controversy. People accused it of supporting few political issues and distorting the original facts.

Currently, he resides in Los Angeles with his family, which consists of his wife named Julie and their five children. One of them, Jonah Platt, is an actor. Julie is also a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and they met and fell in love with each other on the campus. She is Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles's chairwoman.

Since both have a lot of respect for their educational institute, they have sponsored the construction of Platt Student Performing Arts House, a dormitory for the Performing Arts. Also, every year, Marc makes it a point to employ at least one student as an intern from the University of Pennsylvania to work for Marc Platt Productions. Marc is a motivational speaker too and often visits colleges to give lectures to the students.
