Rotem Shamir is an Israeli director. He was born in 1977 in Golan Heights. He started his career with a popular show called Hostages. It is available on Hotstar and has even been adapted in Hindi. He was the executive producer, writer, and director of the show. He was the editor for Seven Minutes in Heaven in 2008, Phobidilia in 2009, and an episode of Naor’s Friends in 2011. He is the director of Rescue Bus 300 in 2018. It was an anti-terrorism movie. He is the director for Line in the Sand in 2021 and Hit & Run in 2021. He is mostly known for his work in Hostages and Fauda. The latter is already on its third season and is an anti-terrorism show. It is available on Hotstar. In an interview, Rotem revealed the following facts. Assaf Bernstein directed the first season. After the first season's success, Assaf went to the US to shoot a movie based on it. He was therefore not available for shooting the second season of Fauda. This is how Rotem came into the picture.

He had done Rescue Bus 300 and had insights for Fauda. His work is greatly appreciated. This project was completed on a meager budget. It was 1/15th of that of an American show. He mentioned that because it was not an American project, they could really do what they wanted with the script because there weren’t many rules to follow. He also said that low-budget projects could be tough, but they also prove fruitful because they force one to think out of the box. The setting of the show is the Israel-Palestine conflict. He also mentioned the fact that they did not want the show to become political. He and his team wanted it to remain a thriller show. He felt that since he belonged to Israel, it helped him create the show and give it a real setting. He mentioned that the show was realistic and intense because the cameramen were literally shooting right into the scene. Since it is a low budget, the scenes were only shown from one perspective, increasing the intensity. He has bagged another big project in 2021. The name of the project is Savior. Todd Komarnicki wrote the script for this action thriller.
