Vince Commisso is an American producer. He was born in Canada and was raised in a family that was in the media. He began his career as a financial analyst after completing his studies in business at the University of Western Ontario. He eventually came to the conclusion that the media sector was his true passion, and in 1995, he joined the Canadian animation studio Nelvana. Commisso spent more than ten years at Nelvana, working his way up to the position of Executive Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. While he was in Nelvana, he produced several children’s shows, including Babar, Franklin, and Little Bear.
In 2002, Commisso left Nelvana to create his own entertainment company named 9 Story Entertainment along with Steve Jarosz. His company was mainly focused on creating children’s entertainment shows. He has received several awards for several shows, such as Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Wild Kratts, etc. Along with 9 Story Entertainment, Commisso has acquired several other productions. Commisso is known for his innovative ideas in Show Industry. He has received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Playback Canadian Film and Television Hall of Fame Award, and the BANFF World Media Festival's Innovative Producer Award.
