Carl Laemmle Jr (actual name Julius Laemmle), an Oscar awardee, was born on 28 April 1908, Chicago, Illinois, the USA to Carl Laemmle, the founder of Universal Pictures producing one of the finest movies right now. Carl’s mother, Rocha Laemmle died when he was 11 in 1919. The rest of the Laemmle family shared an apartment in New York City. Long-standing as an executive producer at Universal productions he had become in charge of production, on his 21st birthday.

During his age as head of the production, the studio progressed well with Frankenstein, The Invisible Man Click to look into! >> Read More... , A House Divided, The Mummy Click to look into! >> Read More... , The Old Dark House, East of Borneo,All Quiet on the Western Front,Imitation of Life, Dracula, and Bride of Frankenstein. He has become an Oscar awardee by 22, being the producer of All Quiet onThe Western Front. He hired James Whale to direct Frankenstein. Jr persuaded his father to give a try to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which had become a huge success by collecting $215M worldwide.

Junior spent much on each picture. A mid-range movie, with no hopes of touching heights, valued $200,000 at Universal. But under Junior, $30,000 to $80,000 was added to the expenses. Time past, the checks to signed off for the movie went up. Instead of being cautious, Junior used everything he had from the company on a film Show Boat. He hired a cast of majorly stage performers with great Paul Robeson. He had spent on expensive sets and costumes and convinced the board that he had been working on a major film.

With peaks of faith in Whale, Junior continued to spend for Show Boat, which piled a group of checks equal to $1.275 million. That was about one of the fourth the value of the entire studio. Then Laemmle Senior had bet the farm. Carl Senior got acceptance for the loan for $750,000 from the known outfit called Standard Capital. The studio was under the collateral. Carl Senior was gambling then, with the confidence that the capital department won’t come up with all the money in time, but Senior estimated wrong they showed up with the money.

Show Boat’s release didn’t reach the height of the debt. Later on March 14, 1936, Standard Capital bought Universal, lead to the Junior’s resignation a month later. He then proceeded with independent productions in 1936, but none of his projects was successful. Laemmle Jr died at the age of 71 from a stroke on September 24, 1979, at Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. On the day, 40 years of his father's death at Home of Peace Cemetery. The recent discussion about Laemmle Jr came up when scholar Ben Urwand of Harvard came up with the discussion, how Germans rioted against Laemmle’s movie All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) to make cuts in the film. But the laser focus was on Jewish Laemmle, who helped over hundreds of refugees of Jewish escape the Europe by securing their visas.
