Julien Rappeneau is a French writer who writes screenplays for French movies. He comes from a movie background as his father is a renowned director,Jean-Paul Rappeneau. He is also the nephew of Elisabeth Rappeneau, the television director and the brother of the popular music composer Martin Rappeneau. Apart from being a scriptwriter, he is also a director. He has won the Gijón International Film Festival’s award for his film Rosalie Blum in 2016. He has received notable nominations for the movies’ Bon Voyage’ and ‘36 Quai des Orfèvres’ Julien made his debut as a writer in the year 2003. He wrote the script for his father’s movie Bon Voyage. It was directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneeau (his father).

In the same year, he wrote another script for the flick ‘But Who killed Pamela Rose?’, a French movie. In the following year, he came up with the writing for the film ‘36 Quai des Orfèvres’, also known as 36th Precinct or as Department 36, for which he received multiple nominations. In the year 2006, he came up with the script for the movie ‘A Space Ticket’ for the director Eric Lartigau. The Jungle’s script was written by Julien for Matthieu Delaporte in the same year. In 2007, he came up with two movie scripts ‘Pars Quickly’ and ‘Come Back’ for Director Regis Warhnier and ‘Faubourg 36’ for Christophe Barratier. Largo Winch, Cloclo, But who retrieved Pamela Rose and Zulu are some other films written by Julien Rappeneau in the years 2012 and 2013. He wrote these scripts for Emilio Siri, Oliver Baroux, Kad Merad and Jerome Hall respectively. In the year 2015, Julien made his directorial debut.

He made his first directorial venture Rosalie Blum which was a French comedy. He wrote the movie himself and then took the job of directing it. The movie was produced under the banner of ‘The Film and CG Cinéma’. Julien was also involved in its production. It starred Noemie Lvovsky, Alice Isaaz and Kyan Khojandi. On 11th of November 2015, the film as officially selected for two awards at the Sarlat Film Festival. It is based on a novel under the same name. It is a thriller which unfolds into various levels of physiological barriers. The film received a good critical response and was finally released in March 2016. It was very well appreciated by the fans as well.
