Levy married actor Jaime Freitas on 3rd March 2011. The couple divorced on 31st October 2011, according to court filings. Jane Colburn Levy hails from Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of artist and florist Mary Tilbury and mediator Lester Levy. Levy's family moved from Los Angeles to northern California at a young age. Later, she grew up in San Anselmo. Her father is of Jewish ancestry, while her mother is English, Scottish, and Irish. She studied at the prestigious “Sir Francis Drake High School.” She worked as a member of the hip-hop dance squad and the soccer team's captain. Levy began playing soccer when she was just five. Levy spent a year at "Goucher College" in Baltimore, Maryland. She became a member of the Division III varsity women's soccer team. She then completed her graduation from the prestigious "Stella Adler Studio of Acting Conservatory" in New York City.

After two years in New York City, Levy moved to Los Angeles. She played the recurring character Mandy Milkovich, her first TV appearance, in “Shameless.” In March 2011, she received her first role in the sitcom “Suburgatory.” She co-starred in the series with Jeremy Sisto and Cheryl Hines, two renowned actors. Levy reunited with Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez in “Don't Breathe,” a horror-thriller released in 2016. The plot centers around three friends breaking into the home of a wealthy blind man. “Don't Breathe” grossed over $156 million. The film earned critical acclaim.
