Harkisan Mehta was a journalist and author. His full name was Harkisan Laldas Mehta and he was born in the state of Gujarat near Bhavnagar in 1928. Harkisan wrote several books and articles mostly in Gujarati. He went to M.N. High School in Gujarat. Harkisan was the editor of Chitralekha – a Gujarati weekly news magazine for 40 years. Harkisan published many of his novels in a series of chapters in the weekly – Chitralekha. His works were mostly inspired by things around him and real-life incidents. His book Jad Chetan was based on a real-life court case. A number of his writings have been translated into languages like Urdu and Tamil.

His works include a travelogue titled Sweden Sonanu Pinjar and novels like Doctor Roshanlal, Tarasyo Sangam, Pravah Paltayo, Mukti Bandhan “ Don’t under estimate the power of a common man.” >> Read More... , Chambal Taaro Ajampo, Maanas Name Gunegar, Sansari Sadhu, Dev Danav, Ant Aarambh, Paap Pashchatap, and Bhed Bharam.
