Karan Suri

Karan Suri, a former executive chef at Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, has cooked and eaten worldwide. Karan Suri was born in New Delhi, India. He started his journey after graduating with Science in Hotel Management at Indira Gandhi National Open University in 2004. His brilliant resume consisted of working for the Oberoi, Ritz-Carlton, and Raffles Hotel Groups in India, Singapore, and Dubai; executive sous chef at The Leela Places and Resorts.

Suri’s goal was to become an executive chef before he was thirty. At the age of twenty-nine, he achieved his goal by becoming the group executive chef based at Fairmont’s The Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. Suri accepted the position of Executive Chef at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel (3111 Grant McConachie Way, Richmond), which made him move to Lower Mainland in 2014. The hotel’s restaurant, Globe@YVR, was ranked the fifth-best airport restaurant in the world by The Daily Meal in 2015 under the leadership of Suri.

In 2016, Suri became the executive chef at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. Since 2019, Suri has been working with A&W Food Services of Canada as a Director Menu Developer. He leads menu innovation at A&W dedicated to developing the food and beverage program and recipe creation by merging science, data, and culinary insights. Suri accepted the position of Executive Chef at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel (3111 Grant McConachie Way, Richmond), which made him move to Lower Mainland in 2014.
