However, their journey takes unpredictable turns of events as they are introduced to the arcane ways of the world. Vindhya garnered widespread lauds for her production of a film that boldly tackled the taboo subject of rising popularity of substance abuse among the youth. The drama was first screened at the Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2014, where it bagged the grand prize for best feature film award.

It later claimed the Best Foreign Film, Platinum REMI, and Yellow Rose honors at Indie Spirit, worldfest – Houston and Jaipur International Film Festivals respectively. Pepsi MTV Indies named it as one of the top ten Indie movies of 2014 while San Antonio Express News included it in the list of must-watch movies. It was distributed by PVR Pictures in India on 22 July 2016 but was subsequently acquired by Netflix.
