Anjan Biswas

Anjan Biswas is well-versed in different categories of the entertainment industry. He is a top-notch comedian, writer, and producer who has now gained recognition from all over the world. His standups have assisted him a lot in acquiring fame in this era. His journey so far hasn’t been a piece of cake. He was born in a middle-class family, and the struggle begins there. His dad worked day and night to meet the needs of the family members. He did grow up in Singapore for his major years. Biswas went to the U.S for College along with a dream of becoming a comedian. He knew commencing a comedy show is easy as pie, but doing well would be a difficult task for him. His road of struggles was rough and tough. Talking about his journey, he used to work as a bar- back at a college bar called ‘Roggie’s’ in Cleveland Circle. It was shut down after some time. At that time, an idea struck in his mind, and he proposed and implemented that. He started free ‘Monday Comedy Night’ at Cityside alongside his friend. The show started gaining fame and is now recognized as one of the best comedy shows in the country. He has done shows around the world including, Comedy Central Asia and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has been seen on WBAI radio’s The Artsy Fartsy Show and hosted AB radio with Margaret Cho.

Anjan’s self-composed solo show received an excellence award at the New York Fringe Festival in 2013 and grasped a lot of attention and a feature article on The Wall Street Journal, as well as various rave reviews. He was successful in landing some commercials also. He believes that “the Comedy bubble is going to burst shortly.” His hard work, sacrifices, and everything have made him a true star.
