Deepak Gawade is an Indian writer, director, and producer in the Bollywood industry. Deepak’s interest primarily rests as an executive director, but recently he has explored working as a director in the Indian film industry. His directorial debut was Heyro Party (2013), which won the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film on Family Welfare. Later in 2017, Gawade released his debut Marathi film, Idak: The Goat. The film depicted a man and a goat going on a journey and the inevitable friendship that followed. The film was even selected for the Cannes International Film Festival in 2018.
Since his primary interest was as executive director, he has produced some famous works doing the same, where he is known for producing movies like Ghajini (2008), Special 26 (2013), and M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). He is a firm believer that content is the life of regional cinema. He works for both Hindi and Marathi cinema. The Sky Is Pink (2019) was his recent work.
