The movie's story revolves around a man named Vengadam. He got released from jail for two days and heads to his hometown Kanchipuram. He's being taken to the place by the two policemen. As they start the journey, Vengadam recalls his memories. He was a small silk weaver in his town. He got married recently and promised his wife that he'll gift her a silk saree at their wedding. But it was so expensive that he couldn't fulfill his promise. The situation portrays how the people who weave the silk sarees do not even have that much wage that they can afford a saree for themselves.

A few years later, when his daughter was born, he promised his wife that he'll gift their daughter a silk saree for her wedding for sure. He starts saving for her at that very moment. But after some time, Vengadam's brother-in-law ran out of his business and became bankrupt. As a result, he tells Vengadam that he cannot afford to take care of his sister. And to protect his sister's family, Vengadam gives away all his savings for his daughter's silk saree to his brother-in-law. In 2017, he directed the film Raw Days.
