Gujarati film director, Jashwant Gangani, is from the Talaja area in the Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. He is the key person behind Gangani Film Production Pvt. Ltd. He came into the film industry, gradually. He moved to Surat in search of a job in 1973. In his leisure time, he used to write short stories, and this was the basis for his career as a scriptwriter in the film industry. From 1989, he started directing and producing Gujarati films and television series.

In 1992, he opened Gangani Motion Pictures, which produced some remarkable television series, and movies. In continuation for the motion pictures, he established Gangani Film Productions Pvt. Ltd. in 1997, which produced many commercial hits. He produced and directed, Man Sayba Ni Mediye. It was a Gujarati film, which attracted the audience with ease. He even worked as a lyricist and writer for this movie, which made him famous in the Gujarati film Industry. It was a reasonable hit, and it bagged seven state awards. His 2001 film, Maiyar Ma Mandu Nathi Lagtu, is also a Gujarati Film, which bagged eleven state awards and received positive criticism. His series of Gujarati films like Mandavda Ropavo Mana Raj in 2003 bagged nine state awards, and Palvade Bandhi Prit in 2005 received outstandingly seventeen state awards. Throughout his works, he received a lot of positive criticism and constant awards for his movies. His 2010 film, Mara Rudiye Rangana Tame Saajna, is a magnum opus in the industry,, because of its romance, qualitative love story and luxury in its filming. For this movie, he received Transmedia and Reliance awards, which are of high acclaim.

Apart from the films, he also worked as the director, producer, and writer for Gujarati serials like Kariyavar, which aired for 270 episodes on Zee Tv.
