Allia Al Rufai is a budding fashion stylist and holds a master's degree in commerce, business, brand management and marketing from Mumbai University. She was absorbed well in the fashion industry as a fashion stylist and consultant.

She worked as a stylist for the Bollywood movie, " Fashion Click to look into! >> Read More... ", being an integral part of Rita Dhody style team in 2008. She also served as the junior fashion editor at the Harper's Bazaar from 2008 to 2012. She has played dress up with top and leading actresses of India like Deepika Padukone Deepika Padukone is an Indian actress and model. Her work has marked appearances on countless magazine covers.

It seems that Allia fell in love with fashion at a very young age. She rethinks on her first encounter with fashion, at the age of 14, where she desperately wanted to wear the Patrick Cox shoes, very popular in England. She remembers that she used to watch Galliano’s early couture shows for Dior and just be in awe of every small detail that went into putting on a show like that. Slowly and gradually, she realized her dream to work in the fashion industry. She was incidentally picked up for Madhur Bhandarkar's esteemed Bollywood film, ‘Fashion’, with the primary job of being a stylist.

Looking back on the experience, she says that Bollywood is a crazy industry. She explains that there are many things to learn at every step. One has to master the art of working hard long hours, to listen and to learn quickly. She regards herself to be one lucky girl who incredibly got a chance to flag off her career with ‘Fashion’. She recalls it to be one of her most amazing experiences ever, and is thankful and fortunate enough to work along and learn from the best people associated with the fashion industry during that time. Straight from the set of ‘Fashion’, she was chosen to head up Harper's Bazaar in India. She propounds that time to be the most exciting of all, as every day posed a new challenge and embarked a learning experience.

Allia has extreme love for her profession and views her work to be varied, which offers greater creative freedom. She mentions that being self-employed yields the best perks in today's time. She regards shoot days to not be as glamorous as one may think, because they are extremely hectic and long, starting from 6 in the morning, and engaging the mind and the body for 18 hours.

However, Allia figures the best thing about being a fashion stylist is the constant change. She made the following statement about it, “Season's change, Fashion evolves”. For all budding fashionista's, her advice is, “watch and learn. Work hard, get a good internship, and always be two steps ahead of your mentor. When you’re asked to do something, your reply should be it's already done.” That’ll surely impress them! Her strong ideas reflect what a strong base she has laid for herself in the industry.
