After he had finished his studies, he started his career as an assistant director to Raj Kapoor in the Bollywood teen romance film, Bobby in 1973. His guru wanted him to learn more and give up his career. He took a hiatus from the industry and worked as an apprentice to Mr. Yogendra Madhavlal. He is assisting in exporting Kolhapuri Chappals abroad. Later, he joined an agricultural company called Escorts and subsequently started his own business. 

He made a comeback to films in the year 2007 through the English film Don’t Stop Dreaming, which was shot in Birmingham, England and Sambar Salsa in the same year. He was debuted and became notable as an actor in Jagmohan Mundhra’s Bollywood action film Chase in 2010, where he played as an industrialist with negative shades. Aditya was also remarkable in his role as a business person who fell for a prostitute in the film Mumbai 118. He acted in the lead role in the Hindi romance-thriller film Diwangi Ne Had Kar Di in 2010. He was also seen in Akshay Oberoi-starrer Isi Life Mein in the same year. In 2012, he acted in the Hindi romance film, Say Yes to Love, helmed by Marukh Miraz Beig. 

After he retired from the film industry, he became active and participated in some biking events including the India Hai in 2014. He also penned a book entitled Biker’s Diaries. Post retirement, he started doing the things that he loves to do such as painting, cooking and dancing. Besides that, he was also seen in Ashutosh Gowariker’s telenovel Everest, which was aired on STAR Plus channel in the same year. He is running his own truck and warehouse business and his construction company established the Fantasy Land and Appu Ghar, the amusement parks in Mumbai and Delhi respectively.
