Dhananjay Mandrekar

He is an Indian actor who has acted in both Hindi series and movies. He was brought up in a small town in Southern Mumbai called Girgaon. He graduated from his school, DGT high school with the class of 1979. After that, he proceeded to look for his landmark in the B-town. Mandrekar made his first acting debut in a movie called Ziddi. Though it was a minor role in the movie, it certainly did open doors for Mandrekar to other acting ventures in the film industry. It was not until a year later when he bagged his breakout role for a critically acclaimed series called C.I.D. He was given a supporting role of Sub-Inspector Sudhakar, where the storyline would usually revolve around a crime-investigation. C.I.D became highly popular among the Indian audience and it was well received by most of the critics. It now ranks as the longest running series in a television history spanning duration of almost nineteen years. Because of the success and its vast reach among the audience, the series was dubbed into many different languages. Some of the notable ones are Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam where Mandrekar is mentioned in every one of their end credits.
