Jaywant Wadkar Pandurang is a veteran Bollywood and Marathi theatre actor living in Mumbai. He started off as a minor actor and later on played many supporting roles in Marathi as well as Bollywood films. He debuted in the famous Bollywood movie Tezaab (1988) playing the role of a friend of the protagonist. He is mostly found to be playing comic roles or the role of a Marathi cop or a constable in his more recent movies.

Jaywant Wadkar was honoured with the ALMA Awards for his contribution in Hindi and Marathi cinema services to promote the socio-cultural development of the nation. He has been appreciated by the Maharashtra Rajya Natya Spardha for his contributions in Marathi theatre and has also received the prestigious State Award for Best Comedian for the commercial Marathi film Chalu Navara Bholi Bayako in 2004. Jaywant Wadkar is said to be a very down-to-earth person. He believes in putting his 100% in his characters. In an interview, he said, “I am not an actor, I am an observer.” His humble personality and his unique comic spirit have garnered much appreciation in the film industry.
