. Even his voice and mannerism is also very similar to that of Nana Patekar. In his inner circles and among many friends and well wishers, he is known as Nana rather than Mahesh.
Though he is acting in Marathi serials for quite sometime, he appeared in a Hindi TV serial 'Dill Mill Gaye' which was a youth oriented medical drama based on the life of resident Doctors and Interns in a Hospital named Sanjeevani. The serial was created by

and directed by
Nissar Parvez
and others. It was telecast from 207 to 2010 on Star One and was one of the most popular serial due to freshness of its storyline and treatment. Mahesh acted in this serial in the role of Mr. Deshpande, a patient who has been admitted to the hospital for his throat ailment. But with his mannerism similar to that of Bollywood Star Nana Patekar he shouts at the top of his voice and gets the things done as per his will. In the process, a lot of hilarious and comic situations arise adding a great tinge of comedy to this serial. His performance int his serial was loved by audiences and he became a household name in the Hindi TV world as a look alike of Nana Patekar.
As he said in an interview, in real life also, he imitates Nana Patekar and according to his own belief, he is 75% Nana Patekar and only 25% of his own self 'Mahesh Jadhav'.
