Ragesh Asthana, an Indian actor was born on 17 May, 1962 in Uganda. In 1972, his family relocated to Mumbai, India and they started living in Kala Kunj in Santa Cruz. As a child he loved to read comic books and fictional story books. He loved to act in Local Talent Day at Ganesh Mahotsav.  In Mumbai he did his schooling in Jamnabai Narsee High School and then enrolled in Mithibai College for further studies. His younger brother Dinesh is settled in New Zealand. In 1994, he got married with Jyothi and had two children Yuvaraj and Nanaki. Rajesh’s debut was in year 1987 in serial Subah in which he played the Appu Swami. He first auditioned for character named Prem but got rejected and then he auditioned for next best role and he got the role. Subah TV series was a success and his role gave him recognition. During some period of time he was getting offered similar roles like Appu Swami but he did not accept any of those offers because he was there to satisfy the actor in him, not to just make money. Meantime he worked in Discovery of India and Adhikar. It took quite a time to get role of Nikhil Singhani in Parivartan TV series telecasted on Zee TV in 1993 but his role as a rebellious person gave him attention. He was last seen in Gumrah serial in 2012. He has worked in Indian movies as well in The Victim as lawyer, Shabri as Sardool Seth, Rakht Charitra 2 a thriller by Ram Gopal Verma as Jailor, Taxi No. 9211 as Car Owner, Black Friday as Mohammad Dossa, Chhal as Inspector Patil. His debut film was Radha Ka Sangam in 1992.

He died of heart attack in Mumbai on March 20, 2014 which spread wave of shock in TV industry as well as Bollywood. He will be remembered for his contribution towards industry and in his own words: The Power of Faith is boundless. It cannot be judged merely on the basis of immediate phenomena. As long as you maintain strong faith you can change anything.
