Although there have been films in which transsexual or transgender characters have been portrayed by normal actors, the instances of actual transsexual persons acting in films are rare, even globally. From that point of view perhaps Bobby Darling as he likes to call himself and use as this as his screen name, is in many ways unique. A person with such a background would obviously have many interesting facets not only associated with his career but even in his personal life. He has mostly been portrayed in films as a female character, or at best as girlish boy. While some sources allude to him as Ritwik Pareek at the time of his birth, some others give him an original name of Ballabh Kothari.
