Born in Chennai to a Malayali Syrian Catholic family. Her father Manoharan is a Veterinary doctor and mother Haise is a homemaker and has a younger sister Angelina. Charmila did her schooling from Holy Angels Convent and later went to Ethiraj College for Women in Chennai city.

Since her early childhood, young Charmila had won the hearts of people by her local stage performances in the city. Her performances were able to move Vijay TV authorities, and thus, she got her first break in to host a show by the name Jillunu Oru Sandhippu. She was also featured in the series Jodi Number One on the same channel.

She made her first silver screen appearance in Tamil film ‘Oyilattam’ in the year 1991 and in the same year she made her debut in Malayalam cinema with Mohanlal-Murali starrer ‘Dhanam’. Later she married to a business person in Chennai named Rajesh in 2006. Currently, she had been in the news highlights again complaining about the accusations that her husband Rajesh assaults her to fear and has taken the forceful rights upon her only son, Adonis Jude. She’s fighting for her divorce case and the legal custody of her child. After interviewing with Kochi Times, we got to know how badly had been the time for her.

She says, “Initially I wanted to go for a divorce by mutual consent, but now I feel I cannot take this anymore.” According to the interview, she says that her mother-in-law has been the major trouble in creating tensions in her family. She is also worried about her son’s health as he has a wheezing difficulty. It’s a myth that life troubles only people like us.

A beautiful, talented actress like her, facing such difficult times in life, it needs courage. And we cannot deny how wonderful woman she is.
