Dhriti Saharan is an Indian actress from Punjab. But she was born in Kolkata and brought up in Mumbai. She has acted in Bengali, Punjabi and Telugu movies. She is a Punjabi film actress and singer. She did her graduation in Engineering but had an urge to make a move to Bollywood. She is most successful Punjabi actress, who sizzled the silver screen with “Pure Punjabi” ( a Punjabi film) which was successful critically and even commercially. She started her career with this Punjabi film and then went to act in a Telugu movie film ‘Love Touch’. Currently, she has married to Jayanth Reddy, an actor. Her husband is also a business man and hails from a political family in Hyderabad. She has been dating Jayanth Reddy for quite some time and tied her knot recently. She has decided to continue acting even after her marriage. Her parents, in-laws and even her husband have been too supportive of her choice to act in films (after marriage). This actress had always wanted to be a trendsetter and quite open to acting in films since her childhood.

After her graduation, she had sent her portfolio to many production houses in Mumbai. But it was just luck by chance, that she even sent her portfolio to a major production house of Punjabi films, and she was called for an audition. That is how she made her break in the movie world. To portray her character of ‘Sharon’ in the Punjabi film’ Pure Punjabi’ she had to theatre workshops conducted by theatre actor Samuel John. After film’ Pure Punjabi’, she got another project ‘’, for which she got the best actress award even. Later, she got a chance to act in Telugu movie ‘Love Touch’ (2013), in which she was paired with Jayanth. Later on, the same ‘Love Touch” movie hero Jayanth Reddy tied the knot with Dhriti and became a real husband in her personal life. After constantly gaining recognition in Punjabi film, she was seen in Punjabi-Bengali bilingual ‘Teri Meri Ik Jindri’ with . In Bengali, the film was called 'Hashi Kannar Iti Kotha'. She also appeared in a Dish TV advertisement with (King Khan) which was a memorable experience for her.
