The movie buffs of 1950s can’t forget Geeta Bali. She was born in a Sikh family. The financial status of her family was not appreciable at the time when Bali took up acting. Geeta Bali acted in a film named The Cobbler when she was just 12-years old. Later she acted as a heroine in the movie Badnaami. Bali learnt horse riding, classical dancing and gatka fencing when she was young. The movies that Geeta Bali acted are Baazi, Ghayal, Baaz, Bawre Nain, Albela etc. She Nominated two Filmfare Awards that includes Best Actress award and Best Supporting Actress award. Bali was wedded to Bollywood actor Shammi Kapoor. They are blessed with two children. Bali is different from some actresses in the sense that she didn’t quit acting after getting married. Her last project was Jab Se Tumko Dekha Hai during the year 1963. Geeta Bali is the aunt of another actress Yogeeta Bali. Bali passed away owing to chicken pox in 1965.
